A New Year

This is her 20th time celebrating a Chinese New Year. Just like every other year, she goes back to her main house in Lee Jetty. She has never felt any happier to return there than this year, because this year she faced a great loss. Just a week ago she was crying her eyeballs out over the death of her grandfather. That grandfather was actually the person who took care of her when she was little. Mind you, her mother was so busy with her life that she had to be left with a babysitter. She grew up calling the couple who raised her as grandpa and grandma but in reality she is not blood related to them. Just a distant relative.

A few years back when her grandmother passed away, she did not even attend her funeral because that time she was still young and ignorant. She did not shed a tear or felt any loss because she was no longer attached to them. She did not even feel the lack of presence of her grandma. But this year, just when she was thinking of having to be able visit her grandpa and take a picture with him with her new camera, her happiness and hope were crushed by the unfortunate news. This time she knows that she will not have anymore time in making memories with him.

Unfortunately, she was too late. She did not even have the chance to visit him while he was in the hospital. The moment she found out that her grandpa was sick, her grandpa had passed away peacefully in  the hospital. It was this year that she felt a loss of a relative. It was this year, exactly a week ago, she looked at the face of a beloved person from the glass of a coffin. She has never seen such a face. So [peaceful yet empty and it automatically made her tears into pools of  wasted liquid. It was her grandpa's death that made her realised if she ever procrastinate in anything she does, she would regret when she missed her chance. Though she had realised this long time ago, from time to time the reminder would fade off. But this time she would definite make sure she remembers this.

The one regret she have right now is to not be able to even have a picture with her grandpa. That is why this year's New Year is even more meaningful for her. She would never want to miss a moment in her life because she knows that anything can happen tomorrow and she would not want to miss anything for the world. This year of the Tiger will certainly make her into a more matured lady and she certainly wishes the best out of it.

For the moment, she just enjoyed herself while she still can.

A visit to Lee Jetty :

And she says:

Let this New Tear bring humble beginning and a path to a happy ending.
Happy Chinese New Year to everyone who is celebrating and Happy GOOD Year for the rest of you.
May the little tiger brings great success, wealth and health to everyone out there
Do not forget a great Valentine's day too~
Though this Valentine is not special to me, but it sure is for the loving couples out there. Make your relationship as treasureable as you can because you might not know what can happen tomorrow.
Treasure all you have while you still can.
